The Beauty of Covid - Nature's Revenge

November 2020

This piece of work woven in 2020 was inspired by the Covid pandemic - a book woven on one continuous warp, in multiple layers. Each page telling an aspect of the times in which we lived out the experiences associated with lockdown and lack of communication. Each of the pages are woven with a different material depicting the various aspects of lock down - Chinese silk, toilet paper, masks, chaos, graphs, the NHS, the care home scandal and finally the possibility of a vaccine and then mutations of the virus.

How stories are told and the making of books has started to fascinate me and has been integral to my research into the process of telling a story in woven textiles
